Jagdish Singh Jhinda resigned from the Haryana Sikh Gurdwara Administration Committee after his group gained solely 9 of 40 seats, citing ethical accountability.

Jhinda submitted his resignation to the Kurukshetra deputy commissioner, citing his group’s incapability to safe a majority within the elections that had been held to elect 40 members on Sunday. The Jhinda group gained 9 seats, whereas 22 of these elected are Independents.

Jhinda stated that he was taking ethical accountability after his group failed to fulfill the expectations of the Sikh group. “Despite our efforts, we could not win the trust of the majority. I believe it is appropriate to step down,” he stated in his resignation letter addressed to the Haryana governor submitted via the Kurukshetra DC,
