Talking throughout his marketing campaign in varied villages of Channapatna, Kumaraswamy claimed that over the past meeting election, Congress allegedly distributed present coupons price ₹3,000 and ₹5,000 in constituencies like Ramanagara and Magadi.
“Voters were reportedly encouraged to redeem these coupons at Bengaluru’s Lulu Mall, with promises that they could buy items of their choice,” he stated.
“When voters went to redeem their coupons, they found them to be worthless,” Kumaraswamy stated, including that this act was a “coupon scam”.
The Union Minister claimed that Congress is now attempting to repeat this technique within the Channapatna by-election.
Kumaraswamy urged voters to not be misled by such misleading ways, emphasizing the significance of resisting fraudulent practices by Congress.

Notably, HD Kumaraswamy (HDK) defeated Yogeeshwara within the 2018 and 2023 meeting polls from the seat. The seat fell vacant after HDK gained from the Mandya parliamentary phase within the final Lok Sabha polls.
Voting for the primary part, overlaying 47 Meeting constituencies and the Wayanad parliamentary seat in Kerala will happen on November 13. The second part will happen on November 20 for the Kedarnath Meeting constituency in Uttarakhand and the Nanded parliamentary seat in Maharashtra. The counting of votes will happen on November 23.
