Ludhiana: MC lambardar arrested for taking ‘monthly bribe’ from sanitation employee

The state vigilance bureau (VB) arrested Sanjay Kumar, a lambardar in municipal company’s (MC) Zone-B, for allegedly taking a bribe of ₹6,000 per 30 days from a safai sewak (sanitation employee).

A VB spokesperson stated a grievance was lodged on the anti-corruption motion line by the sufferer, recognized as Sandeep, a resident of LIG Colony, Jamalpur.

The complainant alleged that accused Sanjay was taking the month-to-month bribe to take care of his attendance report and had extorted ₹1.4 lakh over the previous two years. He stated the complainant supplied cellphone recordings of the accused demanding the bribe.

A case was registered beneath the Prevention of Corruption Act on the VB police station, Ludhiana vary. The accused was produced in a courtroom, which remanded him to in the future in VB custody.
