A day after the statue of Dr BR Ambedkar, the daddy of the Indian Structure, was broken by a teenager on Heritage Avenue in Amritsar sparking widespread outrage, Punjab chief minister Bhagwant Mann on Monday condemned the incident and warranted of strict motion towards the accused.

“The incident of breaking the statue of Babasaheb Bhimrao Ambedkar ji on Heritage Street of Amritsar is highly condemnable and no one will be forgiven for this incident. Whoever is responsible, he/she will be severely punished. No one will be allowed to break the brotherhood and unity of Punjab. Instructions have been issued to the administration to investigate it and take strict action against the culprits,” Mann posted on X.
Police arrested the accused quickly after he climbed atop the statue utilizing a ladder that had been put up for political leaders to pay floral tributes on Republic Day. After the politicians did so, the ladder was not eliminated and the teenager, Akash Singh of Dharamkot in Moga district, took benefit. Accused belongs to SC group: Police
The police stated Akash Singh belongs to the Scheduled Caste (SC). Looking for justice within the case, the Dalit organisations known as for Amritsar bandh on Monday. Sampla sparks controversy
The Shiromani Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee (SGPC) took robust observe of former Union minister and BJP chief Vijay Sampla’s comment on the incident.

Punjab finance minister Harpal Singh Cheema stated, “The accused has been arrested, and the Punjab government will ensure strict action against him. We will not rest until all the conspirators are brought to justice.”
