3 AK assault rifles and ammunition in a big amount have been seized; deceased have been from Lashkar-e-Taiba outfit and they’re believed to be Pakistan residents, say officers
The military foiled an infiltration bid by a gaggle of closely armed terrorists and gunned down two of them alongside the Line of Management (LoC) within the Khari Karmara space of Poonch sector on Friday. The slain terrorists have been affiliated with Pakistan-based Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT), officers stated.

“Terrorist movement was detected on Thursday night at the Line of Control in Poonch sector. Alert troops swiftly engaged the infiltrating terrorists, triggering an intense and heavy firefight. The operation continued through the night, leading to the neutralisation of two terrorists. The search of the area thus far has resulted in the recovery of weapons and war-like stores. Operations continue,” the Nagrota-based White Knight Corps posted on X.
Three AK assault rifles and a big amount of ammunition have been seized from the slain terrorists, the officers stated, including the identification of the deceased was not recognized instantly however they’re believed to be Pakistani nationals.
Troops picked up the motion of the terrorists making an attempt to sneak into Indian territory from throughout the LoC within the Khari Karmara space, resulting in the gunfight, officers stated.
Reinforcements have been rushed to the location that’s lined with thick foliage.
Lt Gen M V Sachindra Kumar, Common Officer Commanding-in-chief of Udhampur-based Northern Command, complimented the White Knight Corps for its swift motion and exact execution in neutralising two terrorists and restoration of war-like shops. “The army stands by its commitment to keep Jammu (and) Kashmir terror-free,” the Military commander acknowledged on X.
Officers stated the our bodies of each the terrorists have been recovered from the scene of the gunfight and preliminary investigation revealed that they have been affiliated with the proscribed LeT outfit. (With PTI inputs)
