A person and an 11-year-old boy had been rescued, the police stated, including {that a} rescue operation is underway.

The accident occurred at Sardarewala village in Ratia on Friday evening, when dense fog engulfed the realm.

The passengers, lots of whom had been from Mehmara village, had been returning after attending a marriage ceremony at a village in Punjab’s Fazilka district, police stated.

When the SUV neared Sardarewala village, the motive force reportedly misplaced management of the automobile due to low visibility, and it fell into the canal. “We have retrieved the body of a man. Efforts are on to trace the 11 missing passengers,” a police officer stated.

Groups of the Nationwide Catastrophe Response Power, State Catastrophe Response Power and divers are conducting the rescue operation, the officer added.
