Kashmir Struggle, a weblog that normally proclaims claims for militant assaults within the Valley, mentioned Wagay was killed as he was concerned in “anti-resistance activities”. The weblog claimed he was a part of an operation in Kulgam during which 4 militants have been killed in a latest encounter. “He had close ties with the Kulgam senior superintendent of police and the army camp,” the weblog mentioned.
Police mentioned apart from Jaish-e-Mohammed and Lashkar-e-Taiba, the Hizbul Mujahideen can be energetic in Kulgam and Shopian districts. “This could be the handiwork of local modules. Besides a few local militants, foreign terrorists are operating in Kulgam,” an officer mentioned after the killing.
Wagay, 39, his spouse Aaina Akthar 32, and their niece have been attacked at their home within the Behibagh space of Kulgam on February 3. All three have been rushed to a hospital in Srinagar the place the previous soldier succumbed to accidents on the best way.
