A girl in Bengaluru misplaced ₹5.9 lakh to a person posing as an astrologer who promised to assist together with her love marriage.

A 24-year-old lady was duped out of ₹5.9 lakh after a person pretending to be an astrologer promised to assist take away “obstacles” in her future love marriage, Instances of India reported.

The person who referred to as himself Vijay Kumar, predicted that the girl, who lives in Bengaluru, can have a love marriage however claimed that as a result of astrological points in her horoscope, she wanted to have rituals carried out to make sure that her wedding ceremony occurred easily.

Rituals for love marriage

To carry out these rituals, the person charged cash from the girl. The girl, a resident of Electronics Metropolis and a personal agency worker, stated she discovered an Instagram account in January who claimed to be an ‘skilled astrologer’.

After studying her identify and date of delivery, the so-called astrologer created a delivery chart and advised the girl that she would quickly have a love marriage. He charged her ₹1,820 to carry out a puja.

After receiving the cash, he concocted one other story about her future marital hassle, to maintain fleecing cash on the pretext of conducting a sequence of pujas. After she paid him almost ₹6 lakh, he started demanding extra. Realising she was being exploited, she refused to offer him any further cash and insisted he return what she had already paid.

Suicide risk

Though he returned round ₹13,000, Kumar warned that if she continued to stress him for the remaining, he would take his personal life and blame her in a suicide be aware. Days later, a person named Prashant contacted her, claiming to be an advocate. He advised her that Kumar was on the verge of suicide as a result of she was allegedly forcing him to return the cash regardless of him performing a number of pujas on her behalf.

Involved, she approached the police. A senior officer said that the whole scheme seems to be the work of cybercriminals, with no actual astrologer or advocate concerned. Electronics Metropolis police have registered a case beneath the Data Know-how Act and BNS Part 318 (dishonest).
