Senapati is a district headquarter situated about 60 km north of Imphal whereas Mao gate is situated about 110 km north of Imphal.

In keeping with a press launch collectively issued by the Naga Individuals’s Organisation (NPO), Senapati District Girls Affiliation (SDWA) and Senapati District College students Affiliation (SDSA) on Sunday, two people – V Hrangao Blesson of Kodom Khullen village and Dalou of Liyai Khullen village, have been allegedly assaulted and have been extorted for a sum of ₹61,400 at gunpoint.

There was no try by the civil society organisations or media to redress the problem regardless of the gravity of this incident, the discharge added.

In the meantime a spokesperson of NPO, in a video message to the media on Tuesday, stated the continued agitation will proceed till CSOs intervene and produce an amicable resolution. “We’re not targeting any community but voicing for justice,” he added.

Thriteen CSOs in Manipur had condemned the assault by way of a joint assertion.

Taragi Cheishu -a physique of well-known personalities, in an announcement stated, “At these trying times,Manipur cannot afford to have the situation deteriorate any further.”
