The MP accused the Siddaramaiah-led authorities of sidelining elected representatives by means of the proposed invoice. In line with him, the Better Bengaluru Authority, which can be managed by the CM, the Bengaluru Growth Minister, and bureaucrats, will permit MLAs to dominate municipal affairs, diminishing the position of native governance.

“Bengaluru already has a Metropolitan Planning Committee (MPC) for urban planning. Instead of strengthening it, the government is creating a parallel, unelected body with unchecked powers, leading to confusion and inefficiency,” he stated.

Some of the controversial facets of the invoice is the proposal to separate BBMP into 10 municipal firms. The MP argued that this transfer would solely enhance prices, duplicate budgets, and create monetary mismanagement quite than enhancing governance.

“Splitting BBMP will not solve Bengaluru’s governance issues. Instead, it will lead to higher administrative costs, inefficiency, and confusion over revenue distribution,” he warned.
