The town bus service is predicted to obtain 100 new electrical buses by the tip of June, pending ultimate approval from the state authorities, officers mentioned. Officers from the Gurugram Metropolitan Improvement Authority (GMDA) mentioned that the monetary bid of 1 firm has already been permitted. “The technical and financial bids of this tender have been opened. The company has bid the rate of bus operation at ₹63.50 per kilometre. Now, this rate will be discussed in a meeting of the high-level committee. After the tender is allotted, the buses will be arranged by this company,” mentioned a senior GMDA official.
RD Singhal, Common Supervisor (Mobility) at GMDA, mentioned the extra buses will enhance public transportation throughout town. “We will be able to serve more commuters on more routes, and it will also reduce the dependence on personal vehicles,” he mentioned.
