Punjab: 2 lifeless, 10 harm in Ropar mishap

Two devotees have been killed and over 10 others injured when a tractor-trolley, getting back from Anandpur Sahib’s Holla Mohalla occasion, overturned close to Ropar on Saturday night time. Round 30 folks have been within the tractor-trolley on the time of the mishap. The deceased, recognized as nambardar Gobind Singh, 55, and Dhara Singh, 60, have been cousins, hailing from Manewal village in Machhiwara.

In accordance with devotees, Gobind Singh took over 30 devotees from his village to pay obeisance at Anandpur Sahib on March 14. After performing prayers in varied gurdwaras, they have been returning when the accident occurred late Saturday night time. On account of slippery street circumstances attributable to gentle rain, the tractor misplaced stability and veered onto the pavement. Gobind Singh and Dhara Singh, who have been seated on the tractor, suffered deadly accidents, whereas over 10 others sustained accidents.

Villagers rushed to the scene after the mishap. Dhara Singh’s final rites have been carried out whereas Gobind Singh’s funeral is scheduled for Monday. The deceased have been farmers.

Three devotees suffered severe accidents whereas others have been discharged after receiving major medical care.

The villagers stated the deceased had been main teams of devotees to Holla Mohalla for the previous 20 years.
