Police arrested three males allegedly concerned within the molestation of an 18-year-old girl in Songarha forest underneath Halia police station space of Mirzapur district on Monday, police stated.

The arrested had been recognized as Pintu Pal, Deepak Bhatt and Vivek Pal, whereas a fourth accused is on the run.

Taking suo motu cognizance of the video, police began an investigation that exposed involvement of 4 individuals, stated further superintendent of police, Mirzapur, Om Praksh Singh.
A case underneath sections 75 (advances involving unwelcome bodily contacts and sexual overtures), 76 (use of prison pressure with intent to disrobe) of BNS towards 4 accused and 67A IT Act concerning the incident, stated the police.
On March 17, data was acquired that the principle accused of the incident, Pintu Pal, is hiding within the jungle of Muraliya. Performing on the knowledge, a joint police staff of SOG, surveillance and Police Station Halia reached the spot, stated Singh.
He stated that the accused Pintu Pal, a resident of Songarha underneath Police Station Halia, tried to flee and opened fireplace at police. Police returned the hearth and after an encounter, the accused suffered a bullet damage in his leg. He was arrested and brought to the District Hospital Mirzapur.
The opposite two accused associated to the incident Deepak Bhatt and Vivek Pal have been taken into custody from different locations and are being questioned.
