“We have received one body apart from some injured passengers. Three teams of doctors have been engaged in treating the injured passengers,” administrative officer of SCB Medical Faculty and Hospital, Subash Chandra Ray, mentioned. The id of the deceased is just not but identified.
East Coast Railway officers mentioned the derailment occurred at 11.54 am although the reason for the derailment is but to be decided. “Right now, our focus is on diverting stranded trains on this route and providing necessary facilities to affected passengers at the derailment site. A special train will be arranged for their evacuation,” mentioned Ashok Kumar Mishra, chief public relations officer of East Coast Railways.
The Nationwide Catastrophe Response Pressure (NDRF) and Odisha Catastrophe Fast Motion Pressure (ODRAF) groups and railway medical staff together with accident aid practice with emergency medical tools are on the spot. “Stretchers are being used to carry the elderly. They will depart in a special train,” he added.

“As the mishap occurred on the downline, restoration work is our priority so that normal train services can resume. All the 11 AC coaches of the train have derailed. A detailed inquiry will be conducted to ascertain the exact cause of the derailment,” the chief PRO of ECoR mentioned. Three trains have been diverted as a result of mishap.
The passengers who acquired off the derailed practice alleged that no association for ingesting water was made by the Railways. “We do not know why train mishaps are frequently occurring in Odisha. We are hearing that some work was going on and it was not done properly because of which the mishap occurred,” mentioned a passenger.
