A CCTV digital camera on the market captured the assault. As per the footage, each suspects and the sufferer appeared minors, stated police. The sufferer, who was being chased by the assailants, tried to struggle off the assault.
As a shopkeeper stepped out of his store on noticing the brawl, each events fled in separate instructions.
“There is a possibility that the victim suffered injuries and the suspects also threatened him with dire consequences before fleeing the spot,” the complainant acknowledged within the FIR.
Zirakpur DSP Jaspinder Singh Gill stated taking cognisance of the CCTV footage, police instantly registered a case towards the unknown assailants. “Investigation is ongoing and the accused will be nabbed soon,” he added.
All accused have been booked underneath Sections 115 (2) (voluntarily inflicting harm), 126 (wrongful restraint), 190 (illegal meeting) and 351(3) (threats involving dying, grievous harm) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita on the Zirakpur police station.
