Safety forces in Manipur have arrested eight people, together with 5 militants from numerous rebel teams, drug smugglers, and suspected looters, during the last 24 hours, officers mentioned on Tuesday.

In one other incident, Laishram Ramesh Singh alias Bobo (44), a cadre of the UNLF Pambei faction, was arrested from Khundrakpam Awang Leikai, Imphal East. The police recovered two cell handsets and ₹21,50,000 in money from his possession. Authorities confirmed his involvement in extortion actions focusing on authorities officers in and round Imphal.
In the meantime, a Border Safety Pressure workforce apprehended two people, Khaiminlen Lukho (36) of Mumpi village and Boipu Gangte (40) of Moreh Ward No. 9 Lhangkichoi, each from Tengnoupal district whereas they have been dismantling and stealing CGI sheets from deserted homes. They have been later handed over to Moreh police.
Moreover, the police arrested Kamal Hussain (44) from North AOC underneath Imphal Police Station for possessing 1.943 kg of heroin.
