Bollywood stalwarts, main trade consultants, and senior authorities officers will converge on the World Audio Video Leisure Summit (WAVES 2025), set to start on Might 1 on the Jio World Conference Centre, Bandra Kurla Advanced. Collectively organised by the central and state governments, the four-day occasion can be inaugurated by Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

In what officers are calling a first-of-its-kind initiative, the summit will deliver collectively your entire spectrum of the media and leisure trade, with participation confirmed from delegates representing round 40 international locations.
The summit will function theme-based plenaries and discussions aimed toward shaping the way forward for the audio-visual trade in India and past. The primary two days will deal with cinema, filmmaking, and advertising.
Day one will open with a high-profile panel dialogue titled “Legends and Legacies: The Stories That Shaped India’s Soul”, that includes iconic actors similar to Amitabh Bachchan, Hema Malini, Mithun Chakraborty, Rajinikanth, Mohanlal, and Chiranjeevi. The session can be moderated by actor Akshay Kumar.

One other spotlight can be “The New Mainstream: Breaking Borders, Building Legends”, a panel with filmmaker SS Rajamouli, actors Anil Kapoor, Alia Bhatt, and Vicky Kaushal, and music maestro AR Rahman, moderated by Karan Johar. A much-anticipated chat between Shah Rukh Khan and Karan Johar, titled “The Journey: From Outsider to Ruler”, will delve into the actor’s inspiring profession.
“This will be a landmark event, bringing together key voices from film, OTT, gaming, digital media, artificial intelligence, and emerging tech,” stated Dhirendra Ojha, Principal Director Normal of the Press Data Bureau.
WAVES 2025 may also function the disclosing of a Bharat Pavilion, the place states will exhibit their distinctive storytelling traditions. The Pavilion, themed “Kala to Code”, will rejoice India’s spirit of Vasudhaiva Kutumbakam — the world is one household — and discover how India’s cultural heritage continues to form international narratives.
