KOLKATA: An worker of a Kolkata resort died after he jumped from the constructing when a hearth broke out on the premises at about 9pm on Tuesday, officers stated.

“Several boarders and hotel staff climbed up the stairs and went to the roof and upper floor balconies when smoke filled up the room and corridors. One of these people panicked and jumped,” a hearth division official stated, requesting anonymity.
The deceased was recognized as Manoj Paswan, a resort employees.
“Manoj was from Jharkhand. He was working at the hotel for around 20 years,” Ramdeo Paswan, the deceased’s uncle and co-employee, instructed reporters.
Fireplace fighters used hydraulic ladders to rescue those that assembled within the balconies.
The flames didn’t unfold to different components of the constructing until 10 pm
Chief minister Mamata Banerjee, who was in Digha for the inauguration of the brand new Jagannath temple, inquired concerning the incident over cellphone and requested Kolkata mayor Firhad Hakim to hurry to the spot with police commissioner Manoj Verma, native Trinamool Congress leaders stated.
