The Union minister for agriculture and farmers welfare, Shivraj Singh Chouhan, on Thursday, urged India’s 16,000 agricultural scientists to step out of laboratories and into fields, figuring out real-world points that advantage analysis.

The Union minister was the chief visitor in a particular ceremony organised on the Punjab Agricultural College (PAUs) Krishi Vigyan Kendra in Rauni village. The occasion was organised beneath the Viksit Krishi Sankalp Abhiyan, an initiative of the federal government of India, coinciding with World Setting Day. Through the occasion, Chouhan hailed PAU’s direct sowing tech as game-changer for pure assets.
The Union minister was accompanied by Punjab agriculture minister Gurmeet Singh Khuddian and PAU VC Satbir Singh Gosal.
The occasion aimed to bridge agriculture insurance policies and improvements with the farming neighborhood, creating consciousness of latest applied sciences and authorities schemes.
Chouhan expressed a deep emotional reference to Punjab, saluting its fertile land and hailing its farmers because the nation’s meals suppliers. He counseled PAU’s direct seeding expertise for paddy as a “Sanjeevani” (life-giving boon) for conserving pure assets, particularly groundwater.
Punjab agriculture minister Gurmeet Singh Khuddian described the occasion as a historic turning level for Indian agriculture, emphasising the knowledge inherent in farmers’ practices and the necessity to be taught from their environmental stewardship. He drew consideration to Punjab’s pivotal position in India’s independence, meals safety, and defence, urging the Union minister to prioritise Punjab’s agricultural considerations, significantly round stubble administration and shifting the wheat-paddy cropping cycle.
PAU vice-chancellor Satbir Singh Gosal described the Abhiyan as a key step in agricultural improvement, expressing dedication to delivering PAU and GADVASU improvements on to villages. He invited farmers to share challenges and suggestions to align analysis with floor realities.
