Police stated the lady was rescued after she sought assist from her husband, saying that she had been bought to a Barmer man and compelled to marry him

BARMER: A lady who left her husband and youngster in Maharashtra’s Palghar district to elope with a person earlier this yr was rescued from Rajasthan’s Barmer district after she was allegedly bought for ₹3.5 lakh, police stated on Wednesday.

The lady, who was forcibly married to a Barmer man, was rescued after she reached out to her husband in Maharashtra to hunt his assist. The person responded to the SOS from his spouse 5 days in the past and travelled to Barmer along with his mom and sought assist from the district superintendent of police (SP).

Police stated the lady had married her husband at a temple three years in the past and the couple have a two-year-old youngster. However she left them about six months in the past and eloped with one other man who bought her for ₹3.5 lakh via an Ahmedabad-based man who brokered the deal.

The lady informed the police that she was compelled to marry a person in Barmer’s Sheo space. Police stated the Sheo police tracked the lady to the district’s Bhiyad space and rescued her. She is at the moment at a shelter for girls affected by violence in non-public and public areas.

Sheo station home officer (SHO) Dinesh Singh Lakhawat stated the lady would stay within the shelter till her household reaches Barmer to take custody.

Efforts are being made to find the person who bought her and the dealer.
