Yet, the authorities are extending the concessions based on VDS. We expect the chief secretary of the GNCTD to inquire about this issue,” the tribunal had noticed.

It additionally sought a report about sealing the borewells of these accommodations that didn’t pay environmental harm expenses or failed to use for the requisite permission.

A standing report filed by the Karol Bagh subdivisional Justice of the Peace stated the DJB despatched a letter on November 6 about 30 accommodations and guesthouses that weren’t following the tribunal’s instructions.

The DPCC shared particulars of 21 accommodations or guesthouses that partially paid the fees.

“That a team consisting of the revenue department, Delhi Police, DPCC, DJB and BSES has been formed to seal the illegal borewells,” the standing report dated November 12 stated.

It stated the group checked 10 accommodations on November 12, of which one resort’s borewell was sealed, whereas eight accommodations had paid the environmental harm expenses and undertaken to adjust to the foundations.

“The DJB sent another letter on November 12, sharing details of a total of 78 hotels/guesthouses of the Paharganj area that have not complied with the directions of the tribunal. This sealing drive will continue till the borewells of the violating hotels/guesthouses are not sealed,” the reply, uploaded on the tribunal’s web site on Thursday, stated.
