A 34-year-old girl from Nalasopara has been detained for allegedly making a hoax name to the Mumbai police management room, claiming there was a plan to eradicate Prime Minister Narendra Modi. The lady stated she made the decision as a result of she was disturbed as a result of harassment meted out to her by her relations.

The police management room acquired the decision on Wednesday evening. The caller, a lady, advised the police in regards to the supposed plan to kill the prime minister, including that the weapons for use had already been finalised.
“When the policeman tried asking more about the purported plan, the caller disconnected the call,” stated a police officer. “Immediately, a woman police officer called back the number, but the caller stopped answering the calls made from the control room.”
Contemplating the decision involved the prime minister, senior cops had been knowledgeable about it and the usual working process to deal with such conditions was adopted, added the police officer.
The unknown caller was booked beneath sections 353 (statements conducing to public mischief) and 217 (false data with intent to trigger a public servant to make use of his lawful energy to injure one other individual) of the Bhartiya Nyaya Sanhita, 2023. A preliminary investigation by the police revealed the decision was a hoax. The police later traced the decision to Amboli in Andheri West.
“A team from the Amboli police station was immediately dispatched to the spot. However, they could not find the woman. Later, it was learnt that the woman was in Kandivali and was immediately picked up by the police team,” stated the police officer. The officer added that the lady had made the hoax name from her sister’s home in Amboli.
The lady is a resident of Nalasopara in Palghar district. The police stated she was mentally disturbed on account of alleged harassment from relations and was additionally present process therapy at a hospital. “All her family members were questioned, and nothing suspicious was found, after which she was given a notice under Section 35 (3) of the Bharatiya Nagrik Suraksha Sanhita to appear for questioning in the case and was then allowed to go,” stated the police officer.
