The Ludhiana Rural police arrested two alleged drug peddlers concerned in supplying poppy husk in areas of Jagraon and Moga, officers mentioned.

They added that police recovered 16.20 quintal poppy husk.

The accused have been recognized as Gurluvleen Singh alias Garry and Baljinder Singh alias Binda, each residents of Bhinder village in Moga’s Dharamkot, Police booked their confederate, recognized as Jagroop Singh.

Ludhiana Rural senior superintendent of police (SSP) Navneet Singh Bains mentioned the accused have been arrested from Galib Kalan village following a tip-off. Police acquired data that the accused have been in Jagraon to produce poppy husk in an Isuzu D-max car and arrange a checkpoint, he mentioned, and added that police seized their car.

The SSP mentioned a case was registered underneath sections 15, 25, 61 and 85 of the Narcotics Medicine and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act on the Sadar Jagraon police station.
