The Supreme Courtroom on December 9 ordered the deployment of central forces within the Contai Cooperative Financial institution (CCB) elections in East Midnapore district. The Contai Cooperative Financial institution is the most important city cooperative financial institution in japanese India.

Polling was held peacefully and there have been no experiences of any untoward incidents. “The citizens of Contai have rejected the TMC. The scenario is the same in the entire East Midnapore district. The TMC is nervous because of the Adhikari family. Can you imagine a cooperative bank election being conducted under the cover of central forces?” mentioned Samik Bhattacharya, BJP spokesperson and the celebration’s Rajya Sabha member.

Suvendu Adhikari was the chairman of the CCB until August 2021. He was later eliminated by the TMC authorities, and a probe was ordered into allegations of monetary irregularities in varied cooperative banks the place he had held positions within the governing physique.

Locals alleged that on December 8 clashes broke out between TMC and BJP employees when the election to the Tamluk Cooperative Agriculture and Rural Growth Financial institution was being held within the district. A TMC employee Bishnupada Mondal was murdered.
