A neighborhood builder and his father have been arrested after being caught red-handed whereas making an attempt to bribe a senior police official on Monday, cops conscious of the matter stated.

They added that the accused, who provided ₹1 lakh to further deputy commissioner of police (ADCP Particular Department and Zone 3) Ramandeep Singh Bhullar, have been ‘secretly’ recording the proceedings with an intention to ‘blackmail’ the officer.

The SHO stated Akash and Vijay had filed a grievance about alleged forgery by a tenant and inquiry was being dealt with by ADCP Bhullar. On Monday, they visited the ADCP’s workplace for an replace and whereas talking to the officer, Akash talked about ‘payment’, which raised suspicion among the many officers.
“ADCP Bhullar asked them what they meant by payment as none was required in the case. Sensing something was wrong, he asked his staff to frisk them,” stated inspector Kaur.
The SHO added that on checking their telephones, police discovered that Akash was recording the dialog and had additionally taken movies of the employees whereas ready to satisfy the ADCP.
The grievance was lodged by senior constable Jagtar Singh, who works with the ADCP.
