Military evacuates vacationers stranded in Gulmarg amid heavy snowfall

The vacationers have been stranded resulting from unprecedented snowfall in Gulmarg and the following closure of the street to Tanmarg. 

The Chinar Warriors of the Indian Military responded to a misery name from the civil administration to evacuate vacationers stranded in Gulmarg district of the territory, the Chinar Corps stated on Saturday. The vacationers and civilians have been stranded resulting from unprecedented heavy snowfall in Gulmarg and the following closure of the street to Tanmarg.

The military personnel evacuated 68 civilians, comprising 30 women and men every and eight youngsters, and offered meals, shelter and drugs to 137 vacationers.

In one other incident, the Chinar Corps evacuated a pregnant girl from Kulgam district amid the heavy snowfall.

The rescue staff offered quick medical help and shifted the girl from Munad village to the Authorities Hospital in Yaripora.

IMD forecasts rain, snow until Monday

On Friday, chief minister Omar Abdullah stated that round 2,000 automobiles have been caught at Qazigund in Anantnag district following the valley’s first snowfall of the season.

Abdullah stated he had spoken to the Anantnag deputy commissioner concerning the scenario, including that heavy automobiles have been being allowed to maneuver and efforts have been on to clear the remainder of the stranded automobiles.

The India Meteorological Division (IMD) has forecast remoted gentle rain and snowfall in Jammu and Kashmir till December 30.

Six stranded on Mughal Street rescued

Six folks stranded amid heavy snowfall on the Mughal Street in Poonch district have been rescued by police, officers instructed PTI on Saturday.

On Friday evening, two automobiles going from Shopian to Surankote bought caught within the snow at Chattapani, leaving their occupants stranded in difficult climate circumstances. A police staff rushed to the spot and evacuated them to security.

Police suggested commuters to train warning and keep up to date about climate circumstances when travelling in snow-prone and high-altitude areas.
