The Munshipulia-Khurram Nagar flyover opens in the present day, slicing journey time from 40-50 minutes to only 12-15 minutes, benefiting over 5 lakh commuters.

Commuters travelling between Polytechnic and Engineering School on Sitapur Street can now count on a hassle-free journey because the much-awaited Munshipulia-Khurram Nagar flyover is about to open in the present day. Defence minister Rajnath Singh, Union highway transport minister Nitin Gadkari, and chief minister Yogi Adityanath will probably be current on the inauguration, geared toward easing congestion on one among Lucknow’s busiest routes.

The flyover will cut back journey time for over 5 lakh individuals. The journey, beforehand taking 40 to 50 minutes resulting from heavy visitors at Munshipulia, Khurram Nagar, Aliganj, and Jankipuram, will now be accomplished in simply 12 to fifteen minutes. Residents of Gomti Nagar, Indira Nagar, Tedhi Pulia, Kalyanpur, Ring Street, and Polytechnic will profit from the improved connectivity.

Rajesh Kumar, a resident of Indira Nagar, shared his aid, stating, “The flyover will smoothen traffic flow, reduce travel time, and make daily commuting more efficient.”

The mission, which was initially slated for completion in March 2024, noticed delays as a result of development of the Hanging Arch Bridge and extra security enhancements. The Hanging Arch Bridge, spanning 76 metres over Kukrail Nala, is the primary of its type in India. Constructed fully from concrete, it surpasses the Awadh Chauraha bridge in each size and power.

Superintendent engineer of the general public works division’s NH Division, Rajkumar Pithauria, famous that the unique 1,711-metre flyover was prolonged to 2,611 metres to accommodate native calls for, particularly from Kalyanpur residents. The Khurram Nagar flyover was constructed at a price of ₹269 crore, whereas the 1.9-kilometre Munshipulia flyover value ₹170 crore.
