New Delhi, Six pedestrians have been injured after they have been hit by a automobile being pushed by a person who was inebriated in central Delhi’s Previous Rajinder Nagar on Tuesday night, police mentioned.

5 of the injured are UPSC aspirants and the sixth was visiting the realm when the incident occurred round 6 pm, they mentioned.

The automobile driver, Prem Kumar , was nabbed on the spot and was discovered inebriated throughout a breathalyser check, police mentioned.

“His medical examination is underway and his blood sample has been taken to ascertain alcohol levels,” Deputy Commissioner of Police M Harsha Vardhan mentioned.

“It is not an unusual thing anymore to see such incidents. Moreover, due to the ongoing construction, there is little space to walk and the area has no speed breakers in Bada Bazar. It was just bound to happen because of the negligence of the authorities,” the scholar mentioned.

Bala Krishna , a UPSC aspirant residing within the Previous Rajinder Nagar space for the previous 5 years, alleged that the authorities have at all times uncared for college students’ calls for.

“Be it last year when students died due to flooding in the basement of a coaching centre or today when five UPSC aspirants have been injured, nothing has changed,” he mentioned.
